Summer 2024 Children and Youth Programme

Thanks to #IWill Funding over the winter we have made amazing progress on constructing our new Children’s Education Garden. Two quarters of the garden are now nearly complete with raised beds and path areas, our polytunnels are up along with a shed, seeds have been sown and planting began. But we still have lots of work to go before officially opening the site to our younger visitors.

As our Children’s Garden is still under construction we are extending our offer of a limited number of FREE sessions to schools and community groups.

Groups will help construct paths, sow seeds, plant out the raised beds and polytunnels, and make compost bins….to name but a few tasks! As well as practical skills young people will have opportunities to develop their teamworking, problem-solving and collaborative skills and gain a sense of accomplishment at creating something for themselves and the community which will be here for many years to come.

We are now offering these sessions for groups of up to 10-12 children  from primary Y4 through to secondary Y13  ages, thanks to funding from Georges Fund and The Big Lottery. Sessions are also suitable for DofE students, gardening or eco groups.

Once our Children’s Garden nears completion we will be launching our full programme of gardening, harvesting and cook sessions to pre-school, primary and secondary aged classes and groups. Additionally once The Southside is constructed in Autumn 2025 we will offer an extended range of workshops from our cook school. These sessions will be chargeable, but subsidised rates will be available to local schools.  Sessions will cater for full class sizes with themes to fit with the curriculum.

Please also do get in touch with our education team to discuss bringing your class or group to us

Come and engage with our project! We do hope you can join us!
