Soil, Growing & Gardening Workshops – April 2025 onwards

Our Children’s Education Garden is nearly completed and we are excited to welcome primary aged children back for workshops from April 2025.

Sessions include practical and creative activities enabling children to learn how to sow seed, plant, tend and harvest vegetables, tasting our produce around the garden as they learn. Children explore what plants…and humans… need to grow and stay healthy and look at soil and compost. The practical activities relate directly to National Curriculum requirements.

Sessions are tailored to pre-school/foundation level, KS1 or KS2. They could also be adapted to older secondary aged pupils.

Workshops are available to schools and community groups throughout the late spring, summer term and early autumn.

To extend your trip to us you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and join us for a two hour Southside Farm Tour.

Enquiries for bookings to our Garden Education Officers Kathy Heath kathy@growinglocal.org.uk or Simon Cox simon@growinglocal.org.uk
