Connecting People To The Land
Growing Local is a community interest company that encourages and educates communities to grow, cook and eat local food.
In the summer of 2023 Growing Local took over a new 19-acre site on the southern edge of Hereford to establish a community market garden (CSA), a children’s educational garden and heritage orchards.
In 2024 construction will start on The Southside building which will house a ‘field to fork’ cook school, indoor learning space, cafe and produce shop.
Connecting communities to local food
The Growing Local CSA will supply fruit and vegetables grown with regenerative, organic and agro-ecological principles for sale to the local community through a weekly all year round crop share scheme. The scheme will start in July 2024. Head over to our crop share page to learn more.
We also work with schools and communities delivering educational programmes and events in sustainable food growing and cooking. Some sessions are running now, but a full gardening programme will commence in 2024 and a cooking programme in 2025.
Growing Local was established in 2009 and operated originally from Court Farm in Tillington for twelve happy years. Our Growing Local Gardens project will facilitate the expansion to our own growing and education site in south Hereford.
