**NEW** for Autumn 2026 – our pizza making workshops.
Workshops explore all the ingredients that make a pizza from the wheat through to the tomatoes, cheese and veggie toppings. Children look at how wheat grows and have a go at thrashing it into flour. Groups will explore the garden picking all the produce needed to make the sauce and toppings – tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, aubergines, onions, garlic, basil, corn (depending on seasonal availability).
Children will meet our friendly Southside Dragon who sits over our wood fired clay pizza oven and help with the fire.
They will each have a turn at making the pizza dough, prep the tomato sauce and slice a selection of vegetables in the field kitchen. Each child can make their very own individual pizza.
Sessions include basic cookery, food hygiene and safe knife skills.
The workshop is aimed at KS2 pupils, but could be tailored for younger or older children.
Sessions are 3 hours and include a full sized pizza for lunch for each child to eat at the end of the workshop. Includes a pizza recipe card to take home. To extend your trip how about joining us for a Southside Farm Tour or book a different afternoon workshop.
