Hereford Community Market Garden Meeting 7pm 19th February 2020

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 19th February at 7pm at The Kindle Centre again. The aim of this particular meeting will be to briefly re-iterate our vision and any updates on where we are at with the project. Attendees will then split into sub-groups to each focus on a particular working area we feel is important at this stage of the project:

LAND
GRANTS/FUNDING & BUSINESS PLAN
LEGAL STRUCTURE
PARTNERSHIP WORKING
COMMUNICATIONS

We are specifically asking for people to come along to this meeting who can offer help in any of the above working areas. We will be hosting further regular meetings for everyone else who is interested in driving this venture forward and we remain excited about the support, suggestions and ideas from you all. Please can you advise if you will be attending the meeting on the 19th February, info@growinglocal.org.uk.

Before the next meeting we will be continuing to further investigate other CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) projects and land acquisition. I’ve attached the You Tube video we watched at the last meeting and the presentation can be viewed here.

Many, many thanks again, we are really excited to make this happen for Hereford!

Winter and Spring Garden Volunteer Days

Calling all Volunteer Gardeners!

Our next Garden Volunteer Days will be on:

Thursday 6th February 2020, 10.30am to 3pm

Thursday 5th March 2020, 10.30am to 3pm

Thursday 2nd April 2020 10.30am to 3pm

All sessions are at our gorgeous purpose built schools educational garden at Court Farm in Tillington, HR4 8LG.  We are a friendly group who meet once a month to tackle the gardening jobs our younger visitors cannot manage.  Stay all day or drop in for an hour, your help is always appreciated. Coffee, tea and biscuits plus a lunch made with veggies from our garden all provided (typically soup, cheese and bread at this time of the year). Email info@growinglocal.org.uk if you would like to join us, and to give us an idea of numbers for lunch.

Community Market Garden Presentation

An enormous thank you to all that braved the wet and miserable January evening last night to come along to the first public meeting to discuss our proposed Community Market Garden in Hereford. We were completely blown away by the tremendous turnout and quite how many many people came along pledging their support, encouragement and enthusiasm for our plans! We cannot wait to get going with the next stage of this exciting venture, next public meeting will be in February……more details to follow shortly.

For now here’s the presentation from last night in PDF form.

Many, many thanks for all your support.

Pat, Heather, Rachel, Louisa and Mandy
